CASTING DIRECTOR:
Kristine Eckart      Email: kristineeckart@aol.com

Roles being cast:

David- (age 7-9)  A boy who loves to play all kinds of sports: baseball, football, soccer.  Although very kind hearted and easy to get along with, he can also be a jokester and get into a little trouble now and then.

Trevor -(age 7-9) One of David’s friends and is also very interested in sports and running around at recess.  Trevor is more comfortable when he is being rough and rowdy, which he can easily do with the boys, so he tends to leave out the girls when planning a game of tag.

Natalie- (age 7-9) A girl in the second grade who is smart, strong-willed, and likes to play with everyone. Natalie was raised to mind her manners and care about others. Traditionally a girly girl, she is the type of girl who likes to play house and be a princess for Halloween, but can also join the boys in a game of tag. (Lead)

Miss Gruden (age 45-55) Teaches Natalie and David in her second grade class. Caring and kind, she also is adamant about classroom rules and  strictly enforces the rules to ensure good behavior now and in the future.

David’s Father- (mid-30’s)(Non-speaking)

Mrs. Austen- (Mid 40’s) She is the school principle where David and Natalie attend school.  Must expel Natalie after a schoolroom prank goes bad.

Sheryl- (age: 30s) She is Natalie’s stepmother and married to George.

Rebecca- (age 27-32) A strong, independent woman with a troubled past and lingering distrust of others.  Guilt ridden over her failure as a mother, Rebecca tries to see her daughter Natalie one last time before she leaves for her tour of duty.

George- (age 30-35) Natalie’s father and married to Sheryl. He adores his family and does everything he can to make them happy--including shielding them from contact with his first wife, Rebecca.

William- (age 60-70) Spends his days trying to fill the void that was occupied by his job.  A confident and well spoken former attorney, he feels useless in his retirement and takes out his frustrations on his family, especially his wife, Marcy. He hold everyone to the highest standard, which causes tension between him and his son George.

Marcy- (age 60-70)  In her past, she deeply loved another man, but genuinely loves and cares for her husband, William. Marcy knows that she would have had a different life, maybe one full of more passion if she hadn’t married him, but is dedicated to the life and family she has now.
