MEISNER TECHNIQUE CLASSES

The Artistic Home is one of the Midwest's most established and respected training programs for Meisner based technique. Taught by working professionals who know how to help bring out your best and apply it to your work on stage or on camera.

"The Artistic Home, feels exactly like that, home.  Meisner is such a revealing and vulnerable method for an actor to explore, it's necessary that the actor feel safe and supported.  Kathy and John have given the Chicago acting community a gift and certainly have helped my acting on all levels, from scene work, to prep and understanding, to incorporating these practices into my commercial and on-camera acting.  It is where I keep coming back and always am welcomed."
Grace McPhillips, Actress, Producer, Co-Director Chicago Acting in Film Meetup

"I've seen show after show at the AH and always marveled at how well acted the productions are.  I've also had AH actors in my classrooms and films and they not only know and execute the craft splendidly they can talk about it with elan and passion.  I unreservedly recommend the Artistic Home for anything to do with the craft of acting, they are true professionals."
Vaun Monroe, Director, Producer

Meisner Monologue: Audition Intensive
This class provides the 'one-two punch' you need to nail your audition. By accessing two very simple rules of thumb based on Meisner's dynamic method, actors will focus on language, place, delivery and theatricality. This class ensures that you will beam with confidence and command of language, guaranteeing that you will deliver a memorable audition. While the class focuses on the Monologue as an Audition Tool, students will also be 'schooled' in an overview of the 'audition' process. What are you waiting for? You simply have no time to lose and everything to gain with this dynamic, straightforward approach taught by an actual Sanford Meisner trained actor.
Tuesdays 6-8.  $275 Madrid St. Angelo   Class runs 6-8pm   Not offered this session

"Before I enrolled at The Artistic Home, I was searching to find the kind of actor in myself that I admired on so many of Chicago's great stages.  I was determined to learn 'how to act.'  As I look back on that time and the thrilling discoveries I made about myself and my work, I realize Kathy didn't teach me how to act.  She taught me how to live.  I draw from and deepen those discoveries daily as I now try to share them with my own acting students.  Live simply.  Live boldly. Live beautifully."
