 Landscape of the Body

Written by John Guare
Directed by John Mossman

Unknown-1.jpeg

Script, music and lyrics by John Guare, author of the huge hits House of Blue Leaves and Six Degrees of Separation. This unusual piece is part musical, part dark comedy, part horror story. A wild ride from start to finish. Absurdist mystery meets metaphysical musical in this bizarre, dark comedy from the author of Six Degrees of Separation and The House of Blue Leaves. Betty Yearn and her teenage son come from small-town Maine to seedy 1970's Greenwich Village to rescue her sister, Rosalie, from her life as a part-time porn star. When Rosalie is killed in a freak accident, Betty slowly takes over her persona, only to find herself catapulted by a series of random circumstances culminating in her son's murder -- with her as the prime suspect. A wild ride and poignant meditation on loss, the fragility of life, and our futile determination to make sense out of a senseless world.
