Eurydice

Written By Sarah Ruhl
Directed By Kathy Scambiatterra

Whisked down to the underworld on her wedding day, Eurydice tries to make sense of her memories and her passions, and poignantly reconnects with her long-dead father, even as her heartbroken groom seeks to wrench her back into the life she left behind. Ruhl’s atmospheric play combines off-kilter, playful comedy with a wistful yearning for meaning and human connection.

Featuring:  Karla Carona, Javier Carmona, Steven Cooper, Todd Wojcik, Will Casey, Ariana Lopez, and Alexander McRae
The understudy cast includes Emilie Rose Danno, Chris Manitone, and Kenneth Yoder.

The production team includes Kevin Hagan (Scenic and Lighting Design), Zachery Wagner (Costume Design), Petter Wahlback (Sound Design), Randy Rozler (Properties Design), Julian Hester (Assistant Director), Flora Bare (Movement Director) and Jac Pytlik (Stage Manager).

This is the best show I’ve seen since live theatre has reopened to Chicago audiences at 100% capacity!... It’s a spectacular fusion of fantasy and reality that will capture your heart and will have you laughing one moment and crying the next.

“...Eurydice is a good match for avid theater goers who seek the rare production that entertains as equally as it probes into deeper meanings.”
— Amy Munice, Picture This Post, Highly Recommended
The Artistic Home chose a sure-fire winner for its return to in-person productions, with a creative staging and knock-out cast in Eurydice by celebrated playwright Sarah Ruhl.
— Bill Esler, Buzz Center Stage, Highly Recommended
The Artistic Home takes full advantage of Ruhl’s script in recreating this charming and tragic story. Kathy Scambiatterra directs the cast of four, and a chorus of three, and builds on Ruhl’s stage directions in endearing and often comic style.
— Nancy Bishop, Third Coast, Highly Recommended
