Summer on the Patio

A WORKSHOP REPERTORY SERIES

Featuring:

UNTITLED 99:

In this dark absurdist new work, young emerging playwright MarieAnge Louis-Jean molds a dual dimension that ping-pongs between the here & now and the timeless metaphysical. Enter Neema, Reina, and Mora: three young black women struggling to navigate the relationships in their lives—both platonic and familial, both past and present—and the relationship with their own mental health. Yielding the double-edge sword of generational curses that bonds us the same way it severs us, Louis-Jean asks us all why cycles of trauma continue to repeat without rectification "especially for black women because we are told the most to be silent, grin and bear it."
